New Delhi: There are few movie series which connect with masses across continents. One such franchisee is the Harry Potter films. The tale of Harry Potter, on his way to take on evil wizard Voldemort, has been liked by people from all ages.
Now imagine, what would have happened if an Indian would have played the character of Albus Dumbledore. Dumbledore, the Principal of the wizard school ‘Hogwarts’ was one of the most popular characters in the books and movies.
Apparently, there is an Indian actor who was approached for the role, but he denied.
Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah was asked to audition for the role of Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, after Richard Harris, the actor who played it, died.

This revelation was made by the ‘A Wednesday’ actor himself during a conversation with a leading daily. He said,
“My agent wanted me to audition for Dumbledore’s character after Richard Harris died. I was asked if I would like to audition for it. But I wouldn’t audition for it.”
In the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s masterpiece, Michael Gambon was roped in to play the role of the bearded professor after Harris’ death in 2002.
Well, given by the popularity of Harry Potter series in India, we are sure cine buffs would have loved to have an Indian essay the pivotal role. Naseeruddin was last seen in ‘Waiting’ where he shared screen space with Kalki Koechlin.
