Amidst the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, the debate on banning Pakistani artists in India is getting rife with every passing day. Several celebs have voiced their opinions on the ban and the recent one to speak on the issue is veteran actor Nana Patekar.

Patekar has supported the ban on Pak celebs and said that the nation must come first as none of the artists hold more importance than the country. He further slammed the Bollywood celebrities who have been supporting Pakistani artists saying these celebs don’t deserve the attention they are getting.

Nana also stated that people must realise the value of the soldiers who are the real heroes.

“I have been in the Army for two and a half years, so I know who are our original heroes. Our jawans are the biggest heroes and no one can be bigger than the soldiers. We actors are just fake and insignificant people, and people should not pay heed to what the celebs are saying”, Nana told the reporters.

Apparently, his statement is being linked with Salman Khan’s remark criticizing the ban on Pakistani artists in India asserting that they are not terrorists.

The veteran actor’s comment has come days after Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) passed a resolution prohibiting the Pak artists from working in India in wake of the Uri attacks.

IMPPA’s decision has divided Bollywood into two segments. While celebs like Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Shyam Benegal and Om Puri have come out in support of Pakistani celebs, there are many who are backing the ban imposed by IMPPA.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher stated that Pak celebs, who have been working in India must condemn the Uri attacks which killed 18 soldiers.

On the other hand, Randeep Hooda too had mentioned that Pakistan should be isolated culturally and economically.
