Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra's Namaste England has neither received flattering reviews nor audience's love. Vipul Amrutlal Shah's movie, which is the second installment of the franchise performed poorly at the box office on day 1. As per Box Office India, the film minted Rs 1.75 crore at the domestic market.
Critics have slammed the film calling it illogical with poor performances. Even the crackling pair of Arjun and Parineeti couldn't bring audience to the theaters. The pair which made their debut with 2012 film Ishaqzaade won hearts with their sizzling chemistry.
Reviewing the movie, our critic writes, ''After easy-breezy first-half, the post-interval is laden with a lot of melodrama and twists that gives you the feeling of a daily soap. The vulnerable state of illegal immigrants become the subplot which does nothing except increasing the length of the film. It is a 140-minute watch with no freshness like the first film of its franchise, Namaste London. Predictable plot and lack of fresh ideas make the movie go downhill. Having said that, there are scenes which you enjoy or feel, maybe because you have been exposed to so much dullness.''
On the other hand, Amit Ravidernath Sharma's Badhaai Ho has raked in over 7 crore on day 1. The movie starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Sanya Malhotra has received rave reviews from critics. It is one of those rare flicks which triggered excitement from the day of its trailer release. The story of Badhaai Ho revolves around a middle-aged couple expecting baby.
