New Delhi: One of the most loved daily soaps, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’; will soon bid adieu to the protagonist Naitik. Actor Karan Mehra, shot to stardom when he essayed Naitik in this family drama, but he decided to end his seven year long association with the serial. Karan, shot his last episode on June 10.
For a while now, there have been reports doing the rounds of media that Karan is unhappy with the leap and is deciding on quitting. And he did quit, but he says that the leap is not the only reason.
During an interview with India TV, Karan was asked why he is bidding goodbye when he has such a massive fan following. He replied,
“My health is one of the major reasons, I am quitting. Plus, since few months, we have been trying to sort many things, but that did not turn out well. The entire team of Yeh Rishta.. is my family, aur family ki baatein toh family me hi rehni chahiye naa (things between family members should stay in family only). ”

When asked how Naitik’s exit has been planned in the serial, he revealed a little about the suspense. He said,
“We have left it open ended. It is not like viewers will see Naitik dying.”
According to sources, Naitik will be kidnapped by his brother Raman, and then the entire sequence will play out.
Speaking about his plans, post Yeh Rishta.. Karan said,
“I will be travelling for a few months and that is it for now.”
Karan added that his entire journey on the show, which has aired almost 2100 episodes, has been amazing. He also said that he will stay connected with his fans.
