Tracing the journey of the star captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, his recently released biopic saw mentions of many renowned cricketers. However, the film that opened to rave reviews and astonishing box office collections has surprised one of these cricketers for the manner in which he was portrayed.
Wicket keeper Dinesh Karthik said in a recent interview that the scene that depicted Dhoni’s selection over him took him by shock.
A particular scene in the ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ showed the selectors discussing the playing squad for the Indian cricket team for the ODI tour to Bangladesh. It was shown that during the final call between Dinesh Kartik and MS Dhoni, the then captain Saurav Ganguly voted for the Ranchi boy.
Disagreeing with the fact that Dhoni was selected over him, Dinesh said that he never cribbed about not making it to the team and always believed that one’s skill would bring opportunities.
For long, Dinesh was a solution to all wicket-keeping problems of the Indian cricket team. He made his international debut before Dhoni and represented the country in 23 Tests, 71 ODIs and nine T20Is. Currently, the Tamil Nadu cricketer plays Ranji for his state and aims to bring the trophy home.

Reportedly, the three names were that of the aforementioned senior players and the makers did not mention them to avoid controversy.
The Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer biopic has managed to hit amazing score at the box office. Till Tuesday, the movie minted Rs 116.91 crore. The makers have claimed that with this mammoth collection, the biopic has become the highest earning one in Indian cinema.
