Karan Johar's next project Dhadak featuring young actors Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar went on floors on December 1. The newbies joined the sets in Udaipur and were seen taking a chill-pill on the first day of shoot. The makers including director Shashank Khaitan and ace designer Manish Malhotra gave us a sneak peek into what's going on the sets.
In a picture shared by Karan Johar, Ishaan can be seen engrossed in his cell phone while Janhvi is holding a colourful umbrella. ''Badal kyon DHADAKta hai!!'' tweeted Karan Johar. Earlier, he shared a picture of the on screen couple and wrote, ''The journey of #DHADAK begins today!! JAHNVI and ISHAAN.''
Director Shashank Khaitan also seems to be in fun-filled mood. Manish Malhotra shared a picture in which we can seen all three, Ishaan, Janhvi and Shashank. In the black and white photograph, the director looks angry with the new actors. He is displeased with some faux pas on Dhadak sets. While Ishaan is standing with folded hands, Janhvi's expression gives an impression as if she is about to break down. But wait, before you judge anything, please read the caption.
Janhvi's mother and veteran actress Sridevi also joined her daughter on the sets to encourage her. There are rumours that Sridevi is playing the reel-life mother of Janhvi in her debut movie. Check out the picture below.
On a related note, Dhadak is a remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat which minted Rs 100 crore. Directed by Nagaraj Manjule, Sairat featuring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar was based on honour killing and caste issue.
