Actor Akshaye Khanna, who will be seen playing a pivotal role in Sridevi starrer MOM, has said that promoting his film is a part of his work and it has nothing to do with his father and actor Vinod Khanna’s death. Recently, when Akshaye’s hit film Border completed 20 years in the industry, he sided himself from the celebration as he didn’t want to be its part. Vinod passed away in April and the entire Bollywood mourned his death.
While talking to a leading daily, Akshaye stated that it is terrible for anybody to lose a parent and its impact is also tremendous. But, personal and professional lives should be separated. Thus, getting back to work has nothing to do with his father’s death. The actor, who is coming back on the silvers screen after the hiatus stated that he was looking for shorter roles to test himself.
Akshaye’s father died of advanced bladder carcinoma at the age of 70. His prayer meet was attended by many prominent faces of the glamour world.
On a related note, along with Sridevi and Akshaye, MOM also features talented actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a key role. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the drama thriller has released today.
