Veteran actress Sridevi’s latest release MOM has shown a decent growth over the weekend. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has registered a decent growth of 75.17 per cent on Saturday and minted Rs 5.08 crore on the second day. The first day collection of the movie was Rs 2.50 crore. Thus, MOM has earned Rs 7.98 crore till now. The movie has received rave reviews from the audiences.
Taran took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “#Mom biz shoots up at *key multiplex chains*... Witnesses SOLID growth... Comparative data of *four multiplex chains* follows...”
It is yet to be seen in coming days, if the film manages to earn a good amount.
Along with Sridevi, MOM also stars actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pakistani actress Sajal Ali in pivotal roles. The movie sheds light on the status quo of women safety in India, despite all its technological advancement.
The suspense thriller fought the box office battle with Kartik Aaryan and Paresh Rawal starrer Guest Iin London and Hollywood film Spiderman: Homecoming. Though, MOM is performing well, a source has revealed that the film was made with the budget of Rs 45-50 crore and thus, it has to perform well to make profit.
Mom is released in four languages including Tamil, Hindi, Telegu and Malayalam. It is also Sridevi’s 300th film since her cinematic debut 50 years ago.
