New Delhi: Emraan Hashmi’s recent release ‘Azhar’ is making to the headlines. The movie, which got release today, is getting rave views from the audience.

‘Azhar’ is based on former Indian cricketer Mohammmad Azharuddin and focuses on his life, rising career, love life, match fixing scandal and his downfall.  

In fact, the cricketer is seen promoting the movie along with the team as well.

Since the movie is based on his life, it is being speculated that Azharuddin will be getting a whopping amount in royalty.

But when director Tony D’souza revealed the amount this former cricketer has charged, it has left everyone surprised.

“He has not taken a single penny. We are very happy that he helped us a lot all along, right from the scripting process to shooting to promotions,” Tony told a leading daily.

He also stated that Azharuddin was always there while the movie was being made and would always correct the team with the right stories.

‘Azhar’ also features Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri. While Prachi is seen playing the role of Azharuddin’s first wife, Nargis has portrayed Sangeeta Bijlani in the biopic.
