The threat tactics deployed by Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) against Pakistani artists and film personalities appears to have worked, reports suggest. Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has secretly left the country and won’t return till normalcy creeps in.
The horrific at an Army camp in Uri on September 18 that left 18 soldiers dead was followed up with threats to Pakistani artistes to leave India within 48 hours, failing which the party would deal with the situation “in its own way”.
Party chief Raj Thackeray had also singled out ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Raees’ – both of which have Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan respectively – for blocking their release.
Though the police had promised protection to celebrities and the actor was not scheduled to be involved in promotions, it seems Fawad did not want to risk things. It is now confirmed that Fawad who was till recently in India has flown to his home country.
Earlier the director of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, Karan Johar had said that Fawad won’t be a part of the movie’s promotions, something which is bound to raise eyebrows.

Meanwhile, an unnamed source told a leading daily that Fawad has returned home as his wife Sadaf Khan is expecting their second child. He said that the Pakistani heartthrob is planning to extend his stay keeping in mind the current situation.
Karan Johar too had said that they are creative people and would like to be left alone rather than being embroiled in these controversies.
