Vikas Bahl gets clean chit in sexual harassment case

Filmmaker Vikas Bahl, who name surfaced during India's Me Too wave has got clean chit from the internal complaints committee of Reliance Entertainment. Queen director Vikas Bahl, who was partner in Phantom Films was accused of sexual harassment by a former employee of the company. The entire incident happened while he was involved in the making of Hrithik Roshan's Super 30. Makers even decided to drop his name as the director in the credit list. However, now as he has been cleared of all charges, he will get the credit for direction of Super 30.

After the complainant refused to appear before the panel despite several reminders, the internal complaints committee of Reliance Entertainment, the 50 per cent stakeholder in Phantom Films, co-owned by Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena, Vikramaditya Motwane and Vikas Bahl gave clean chit to Queen director.

Shibashish Sarkar, the Group CEO, Reliance Entertainment, said, “Yes, it is true that the internal complaints committee report has exonerated Vikas Bahl. With the committee clearing Vikas, we don’t have a choice but to reinstate his credit as director of Super 30,'' as per indianexpress.com report.

The complainant called out Vikas Bahl's sexual predatory behaviour twice. After 2017, she reiterated her allegations during the #MeToo wave. Even his business partners, Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane called him sexual offender. Kangana Ranaut too came out to voice her opinions against Vikas Bahl's uncomfortable gestures. Vikas Bahl even filed defamation case against Kashyap and Motwane for maligning his image

After the series of allegations against Bahl, Hrithik Roshan took to Twitter to clear his stance. “It is impossible for me to work with any person if he/she is guilty of such grave misconduct. I am away and have access to only sporadic information. I have requested the producers of Super 30 to take stock of the apparent facts and take a harsh stand if need be,'' he wrote.
