Mere Pyare Prime Minister Trailer: Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra narrates journey of a little boy's big dream

 

Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has dropped the trailer of his upcoming film Mere Pyare Prime Minister, which traces the journey of a young slum boy who travels from Mumbai to Delhi to meet the PM of the country. The film has its focus on the issue of open defecation and sanitation problems in the country, told through the story of the boy Kanhaiya who wants to build a toilet for his mother played by Anjali Patil.

Taking to Instagram, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra shared Mere Pyare Prime Minister Trailer with a caption that read, "Agar aapki Maa ke saath aisa hota toh aapko kaisa lagta?".

Mere Pyare Prime Minister trailer showcases how young Kanhaiya is motivated by his love for his mother. Kanhaiya lives in a slum in Mumbai with his single mother Sargam (Anjali Patil). Toilet facilities, are of course, basic to absent, and after Sargam is raped on her way to relieving herself, Kanhaiya takes drastic action. He writes a letter to the prime minister and decides to travel to the capital with his friends to make himself heard.

The Official Selection of the Rome Film Fest presented three productions from three different continents.  From Asia, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial Mere Pyare Prime Minister was screened in Sala Petrassi.

Earlier, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra shared several posters of the film on social media.

The film is shot at real locations which were finalized after the recce of 1 month of Mumbai and highlights the mother-son relation who's will is to achieve the impossible. 

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film stars National award-winning actress Anjali Patil, Makarand Deshpande, Rasika Agashe, Sonia Albizuri, and Nachiket Purnapatre. The music of the film is composed by Shankar-Ehsan-Loy and the lyrics are penned by Gulzar.

Mere Pyare Prime Minister is slated to hit the theaters on 15th March 2019.
