Launching yet another star kid Abhimanyu Dassani (son of actress Bhagyashree), Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota is here with its first trailer. The film, whose title makes it evident what its about, is directed by Vasan Bala. The male protagonist Abhimanyu suffers from a rare disorder called congenital insensitivity which means he cannot feel any pain in his body. Hence, the title is Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. Abhimanyu as Surya uses his congenital disorder as a superpower to uproot the evil in the society.
He screams, ‘Paap Ko Jala Ke Raakh Kar Dunga’ while having his water bottle-cum-bag tugging his back. Surya always carries his water bag ever since his father, played by Mahesh Manjrekar, advised him to stay hydrated always.
The trailer of the film is quirky and it doesn’t make sense at all; and that’s the best and unique part of it. It takes jibe of everything in Bollywood and everything that’s wrong about it. In the beginning itself, they announce that it’s a cliché Bollywood trailer of Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. The protagonist opens the scene with a hilarious one-liner; Har mind-blowing kahaani ke peeche na kuch bohot hi bure decisions hota hain.”
The trailer also takes a jibe at the pseudo-masculinity of the superhero that’s depicted in most of the fantasy action film. In the end, the makers don’t even spare their own film Uri: The Surgical Strike. Surya asks How’s the Josh, to which he receives only silence in return.
Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota earned accolades at MAMI 2018. It also won the Midnight Madness Award at the Toronto Film Festival.
