The first picture of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rasika Dugal in Manto is finally out. And, we must say that it looks interesting all the way. Directed by Nandita Das, the film is based on the life of a renowned writer and poet Sadat Hasan Manto, played by Siddiqui and Rasika plays his wife in it.
The actress has already taken off for her debut at Cannes Film Festival this year, where the promo of Manto is to be unveiled. Reportedly, Rasika is not even sure if she is there in the promo as she hasn't seen the promo yet.

Meanwhile, the first look of Manto was unveiled at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival and it will take your breath away. The release of the movie’s poster at the celebrated film festival is laud worthy.
This is the fourth time that Nawazuddin has attended the Cannes Film Festival. The actor made his debut in the festival with Gangs of Wasseypur. Speaking about his association with the festival, Nawazuddin said he has come a long way. He revealed that when he debuted he had only one suit stitched by a local tailor. But things have definitely changed for Nawazuddin.

The picture makes you think why Bollywood hasn’t made a film on a writer’s life yet? The film is a biographical account of writer Saadat Hasan Manto’s life and is set in 1940s India. He is often considered as one of the greatest writers of short stories in South Asian history.
