After a slow start on its opening day, Manmarziyaan starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, witnessed a healthy jump on Saturday. Anurag Kashyap’s first ever rom-com, which hit the cinemas on September 14, opened to a dull start earning Rs 3.25 crore. As per International Business Times, the morning shows witnessed only a 10 percent occupancy throughout India. However, things are now looking positive for Manmarziyaan as the film witnessed substantial growth on second day of its opening
“#Manmarziyaan witnesses a healthy 45.17% growth on Day 2, although after a low Day 1, the jump in biz should’ve been higher... North circuits are performing better... Fri 3.52 cr, Sat 5.11 cr. Total: ₹ 8.63 cr. India biz”, trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced latest Manmarziyaan Box Office Collection.
Apart from Manmarziyan, Love Sonia and Mitron also released on the same day.
As per trade analyst Girish Johar, Manmarziyan has the possibility to pick up on more on Sunday, through positive word of mouth.
However, holdovers from previous weeks, including such films as Stree and The Nun are still performing well at the box office, with the Amar Kaushik horror comedy inching towards Rs 100 crore mark on the 13th day of its release.
Manmarziyan was one of the much-awaited Bollywood films. It brought back Abhishek Bachchan on the silver screen after a gap of two years. Produced by Aanand L Rai and Phantom Films, Manmarziyaan released on September 14.
Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, Manmarziyaan is a fun ride that is directed by Anurag Kashyap. The story captures the complexities of love in the modern day. While one man is ready to commit, another find it hard to do so.
