Actress Kangana Ranaut is occupied with the work of her upcoming film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and the latest picture of the actress from the sets will surely raise your expectation. Dressed in red saree and heavy jewellery, the Bollywood diva looked royal. The movie is based on the life of Rani Laxmibai. It goes without saying that the lady is working very hard to get into the skin of her character.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the picture. He wrote, “Here is #KanganaRanaut 's Behind The Scene look for #Manikarnika.”
Just like Sanjay Leela Bhansalu’s Padmaavat, Manikarnika also got caught in the controversy when it was alleged that the historical film has a romantic scene between Rani Laxmibai and a British East India company agent. Talking about that Kangana told reporters, “It is very lowly (neech baat) to even think like that about Rani Laxmibai. We cannot even think like that, the kind of things they are saying. What they are saying is actually defaming. There is nothing like that. It is idle talk and I don't know why it is being said.”
On a related note, Kangana’s last two films Rangoon and Simran couldn’t do wonders at the box office. Apart from the actress, the film also features Pavitra Rishta actress Ankita Lokhande in a pivotal role.
