After a lacklustre opening of Rs 8.75 crore, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is showing rapid growth at the box-office. The Kangana Ranaut starrer, which hit the cinemas on January 25, earned Rs 18.10 crore on Republic Day. The period drama showed jump on Sunday by minting Rs 15.70 crore (approx) taking Manikarnika Box Office Collection to Rs 42.55 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced Manikarnika Box Office Collection, "#Manikarnika has an excellent weekend... Crosses ₹ 40 cr mark after a sluggish start [Day 1]... Kangana’s biggest opener... Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika is all set to cross the Rs 50 crore mark soon, and also the film is winning hearts across the globe. After it's stupendous growth at the Indian box office, the film has won hearts globally as well by crossing the coveted 1 million mark at the international box office in just three days.
Starring Kangana Ranaut, Ankita Lokhande and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is a period drama that chronicles the life of the bravest woman in our history, Rani Laxmibai.
Kangana Ranaut plays the role of Jhansi Ki Rani and has impressed the masses with the trailer of the film. On the other hand, television star Ankita Lokhande is all set to mark her debut with the film as she plays Jhal Kari Bai who was the major supporter of Rani Laxmi Bai in the war from the British.
Ever since the announcement of the film, Manikarnika was surrounded by a pool of controversies from actors like Sonu Sood leaving the film to the script credits and threats from the Karni Sena.
