Actor Dileep, the accused in the Malayalam actress rape case, came out of Aluva sub-jail for nearly two hours to perform his father's death anniversary rituals at his residence. His home was reportedly two kilometres away from the jail. He was brought to his house in tight security and was received by his wife Kavya Madhavan, daughter Meenakshi and his mother. Last week, a magistrate court granted him the permission to attend his father’s rites.
The ceremony was attended by close relatives. If reports are to be believed, people gathered at the place to get the glimpse of the actor. After performing the ritual, Dileep returned to jail at 10 AM.
Earlier, High Court rejected Dileep's bail plea for the second time on August 29. Now, Dileep has to be in jail till September 16 as his remand period has been extended by the court.
The South Indian actress, who has worked in Tamil and Telugu films, was abducted and allegedly molested inside her car for nearly two hours on February 17 night. The criminals made her videos and took photographs to blackmail her.
