The spy thriller film Spyder starring superstar Mahesh Babu has already raked in more than Rs 100 crore even before its release. The distribution rights of the AR Murugadoss movie has been sold for a whopping 103 crores, fresh reports suggest. With this feat, Mahesh Babu has become the fourth superstar after Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan whose film has been sold for more than Rs 100 crore. The individual distributors have predicted that Mahesh Babu’s Spyder will be a huge non-Baahubali superhit film down South.
Giving tough competition to such biggies of the Indian film industry, the Aagadu actor is surely reigning high on the popularity meter.
Kabali, Tubelight, Dilwale
The Rajinikanth starrer Kabali got over Rs 100 crore from the distributors. Furthermore, buzz has it that the distribution rights of the megastar’s upcoming film 2.0 has been sold for a mind-blowing amount of Rs 200 crore.
Meanwhile, Salman’s last film Tubelight was sold for Rs 135 crore, SRK’s Dilwale fetched around Rs 123 crore from distributors across India. However, both the films doomed at the box-office.
Spyder- Mahesh Babu at his best
The film is all set to release by individual distributors all over India. The rights to release it in Andhra Pradesh is among the highest till date, according to sources. Filmmaker AR Murugadoss has come up with an innovative idea to promote anti-drinking and anti-smoking stance as Spyder will reportedly be free from any kind of smoking or alcohol scenes.
Mahesh Babu and Murugadoss are coming together for the first time with Spyder. The film will hit the cinemas on September 27.
