New Delhi: Only yesterday, actor Irrfan Khan came down heavily on superstar Rajinikanth and his forthcoming movie ‘Kabali’ by saying that they copied the poster of his ‘Madari’. But, now Irrfan has retaliated from his statement saying that it was joke and not meant to be taken seriously.
In a media interaction in Jaipur today, Irrfan said that it was mere joke.
“I respect Rajinikanth ji as a human and as an actor and what I said about the poster was a joke. I want to clarify that the poster which I talked about was made by one of his fan clubs,” Irrfan told reporters in Jaipur.
During a promotional event of “Madaari” in Mumbai, Irrfan had said makers of Rajnikanth’s film stole the poster of his upcoming movie.

Earlier, Irrfan had said, “Kabali is a big film, Rajinikanth Sir's film. We are small filmmakers, I saw that Rajinikanthji Sir's film stole the poster of our film. You see his film's poster and see our film's poster. No big deal about it. Watch his film and watch our film, too.”
Both the posters feature the lead actors, Irrfan and Rajinikanth, with numerous buildings and skyscrapers placed horizontally on them.
Talking about “Madaari”, Irrfan said the movie is about the realization of an individual that there is a hero inside him.
“The movie is about the system we live in and if we do not question the wrongs, it starts serving those who run it.”
