Nita and Mukesh Ambani organised a grand event for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations which was attended by number of Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Hema Malini, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor and many others. Meanwhile, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani talking about Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that he never thought that Nawazuddin Siddiqui would become such a huge actor that he is today. The Ganesh Chaturthi festival of Ambani’s turned out to be a star-studded affair as it was graced by number of celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Rekha, Hema Malini, Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sachin Tendular with wife and son, Ileana D’Cruz, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Hardik Panya and many others.

Kapoor sisters Kareena and Karisma also attended the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations of Ambani’s at Antilia. Interestingly, Kareena and Karisma were twinning in yellow traditional outfits at the occasion. 

Kareena and Karisma were seen posing together and no doubt they looked stunning in their similar colour ethnic outfits. Karisma even shared a pic with Kareena on her Instagram and captioned the image as, ‘’When you and ur sister twin in the same colour unknowingly #soulsisterforever #ganpati.’’

Never thought Nawazuddin would become such a huge star, says Rajkumar Hirani

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has established himself as an actor in the filmdom, but his journey to stardom was not an easy one, as the actor has struggled a lot in his initial days. Rajkumar Hirani worked with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in his debut but the director said that he never thought the actor would go on to become a huge star. In Hirani's comedy-drama "Munna Bhai MBBS", Nawazuddin, still in his struggling days, featured in a minor role of a thief who pickpockets Sunil Dutt's character on a railway station and faces the wrath of public on being caught.

"People had to beat him up in that scene and they really did that! I told him 'Nawaz you've done an amazing work, you're a great actor!' But in my head, I never thought that Nawazuddin Siddiqui would become such a huge actor that he is today," Hirani said.

Taapsee, Vicky, Abhishek starrer Manmarziyaan and Jackky's Mitron in cinema halls today

Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal starrer Manmarziyaan and Jackky Bhagnani and Kritika Kamra’s Mitron hits cinema halls today. Manmarziyaan, which is a comeback film of Abhishek is helmed by Anurag Kashyap. Taapsee can be seen essaying the character named Rummi who is a free-spirited girl. Due to her youthful desires she gets attracted towards Vicky, who is an energetic and impulsive natured man. 

The trailer of Manmarziyaan received positive response of audience. The songs of Manmarziyaan were also appreciate by fans. Recently, megastar Amitabh Bachchan sent a handwritten note to Vicky and Taapsee, appreciating their performance in the film. The letter read how Bachchan has always admired his work for his "presence and versatility" and his performance has been "exceptional".

Jab Jab Phool Khile writer Brij Katyal passes away

Popular film writer Brij Katyal, who penned the story of the Shashi Kapoor and Nanda starrer "Jab Jab Phool Khile", passed away here on Thursday evening. Sharing the news, writer-director-media strategist and a close associate, Anusha Srinivasan Iyer, told IANS that he was suffering from cancer.

Katyal was admitted to the Shanti Avedana Ashram located in Mount Merry, Bandra, where he died.

Iyer said: "Brijji was all of sixteen even as an octogenarian. His energy was infectious. I took my baby steps into writing assisting him in penning his scripts... He was always wanting me to direct, finding producers for me. When my short film 'Saare Sapne Apne Hain' travelled to 53 festivals, he was happier than me."
