Khiladi King to the extraordinary common man: Evolution of Akshay Kumar

Time and again, Akshay Kumar has proved that he is an exceptional actor who has made Hindi Film industry feel blessed after having him aboard. From being a great actor to a doting husband and dad to his two kids, Khiladi Kumar is the perfect man. Talking about his filmy evolution, words would fail to express the kind of journey Akki has covered. He started his Bollywood career with his debut film Saugandh in 1991 and there was no stopping him after that. 

In the year 1992, Akshay Kumar charmed the audience with his super hit movie called Khiladi and the Bollywood got its action hero. From doing the action sequences by himself to showcasing some impeccable acting skills, Akshay Kumar sweat it hard to impress the audience. 

In between the action-hero phase, Akshay tried his hand in being the angry young man with films like Waqt Hamara Hai, Sainik, Mohra, etc. and proved his excellence. Akshay simultaneously did a couple of movies like Amaanat, Zakhmi Dil and continued with his Khiladi series- Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Sabse Bada Khiladi and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi. 

Post this, Akshay Kumar who has an impeccable comic-timing did a long list of movies which cater to the comedy genre. Starting from Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi, Aflatoon, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, to Garam Masala, Singh is Kingg, Housefull series, Rowdy Rathore. While proving his mettle by playing serious roles in Dhadkan, Sangharsh, Khakee, Aitraaz, Akki succeeded in playing the best villain in movies like Ajnabee.

Akshay Kumar, in recent times, is catering to the character that depicts a common man who is extraordinary. Initially starting with OMG- Oh My God, Special 26 to playing an army man in Holiday, a RAW officer in Baby, Akki has fetched both box-office applause and political scorn. 

With movies like Airlift, Gabbar is back, Rustom, Jolly LLB 2, Toilet- Ek Prem Katha, Akki has taken the Bollywood by storm.  The latest being the most-awaited movie PadMan, in which Akshay plays the character of a man who made sanitary pads for his wife and other girls in the village. PadMan is based on the life of Arunachalam Murgananthanam. 

For the uninitiated, Akshay Kumar's upcoming films are Gold, Mogul and Kesri. And we won’t be surprised if 2018 also turns out as yet another Akshay Kumar year, just like 2017, and 2016, and 2015!
