Actor Akshay Kumar, who was last seen in Gold, is all set to wow his fans with his latest Bollywood offering Kesari. After series of posters, the makers have dropped the first and second teasers of the film. Kesari is based on the Battle of Saragarhi in which 21 Sikhs fought valiantly 10,000 Afghans in 1897.
Sharing Kesari teaser on Instagram, Akshay Kumar wrote, “It’s an UNBELIEVABLE TRUE STORY. Presenting the first one from the #GlimpsesOfKesari #KesariTrailer21Feb”.
"This Holi, let the color of courage take over you because this is the bravest battle ever fought! Presenting the second one from the #GlimpsesOfKesari #KesariTrailer21Feb", Akshay Kumar wrote while sharing the second part of the teaser.
The makers have been sharing a series of Kesari posters, which have Akshay Kumar leading the pack of turbaned Sikhs in uniforms, ready to rip apart the opponents.
Earlier, Akshay Kumar shared a pic from the sets in which he was clicked with kids. He captioned the image as, “Innocent smiles galore on set today! Shooting with these lovely children playing Afghani kids in #Kesari based on the Battle Of Saragarhi, one of the bravest battles fought in India.
Kesari, which is based on the Battle of Saragarhi, also features Parineeti Chopra in a pivotal role. The battle was fought between the British Indian Army that consisted of 21 Sikh Soldiers and Afghan Orakzai Tribesmen in North-West Frontier Province.
Akshay Kumar is playing the role of Havildar Ishwar Singh in the film, who led the Sikhs in the fight. The films required Kumar to do a number of action scenes which are being coordinated by stunt coordinator Lawrence Woodward of the Oscar-winning Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) fame.
“I have been shooting for ‘Kesari’ since the last one and a half months, and every time that I wear the taaj (turban) on my head, I am filled with pride,” Akshay Kumar talked about his role in Kesari in an earlier interview.
Kesari releases on March 21.
