Akshay Kumar is on a spree this year and for the years to come as well. With his R Balki venture Padman releasing in a few weeks, Akshay Kumar is all set to rule the year with his back to back movies. On Friday, he announced the commencement of another ‘ambitious’ project Kesari in collaboration with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. He shared the first look of the film Kesari, in which the superstar is looking like a fierce warrior clad in a saffron turban.
Film Kesari was meant to be collaboration between three Bollywood biggies, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar. But on Friday morning, the announcement came out without Salman Khan’s mention. He was to co-produce the film but things didn’t go as per their plan.
Akshay Kumar captioned the first look of the film as, “Feeling nothing but immense pride and gratitude while sharing this. Beginning my 2018 with #KESARI, my most ambitious film and a lot of passion. Need your best wishes as always."
Karan Johar also shared the same picture on his social media and wrote, “Exceptionally excited about #KESARI...the BRAVEST story ever told....we begin our journey today... we seek your love and blessings....@akshaykumar @SinghAnurag79 @iAmAzure @apoorvamehta18."
Kesari is being helmed by Anurag Singh. It is based on the one of the bravest battles fought in India, the battle of Saragarhi. It is scheduled to release on Holi.
