Released on March 21, Kesari is a directorial project of Anurag Singh. In this story of Battle of Saragarhi, Akshay Kumar plays the protagonist Havildar Ishar Singh. The film also stars Parineeti Chopra in a significant role. Talking about the box office collection of this action-drama on day two, the film did magic at the ticketing counters. It earned Rs. 16.70 crore.

As stated by Film Critic and Analyst Taran Adarsh in his tweet, the film earned very well despite being a working day. He also stated that this historical drama feature is expected to weave magic at the box office collection on its first weekend. Taran said: "#Kesari is solid on Day 2... Decline on a working day - after a holiday - is common, but the decline is less this time... Will score big numbers on Day 3 and 4... Is chasing a huge total in its *extended weekend*... Thu 21.06 cr, Fri 16.70 cr. Total: ₹ 37.76 cr. India biz." Check out his post here:

Followed by another tweet of the Film Critic, Taran revealed that this Akshay Kumar starrer aims to hold number one spot at the opening weekend after being the biggest opener of 2019. Taran tweeted: "#Kesari aims at No. 1 spot as far as *opening weekend* is concerned... Trending better than #GullyBoy and #TotalDhamaal... Will surpass *extended weekend* [Thu-Sun] of #GullyBoy [₹ 72.45 cr] as well as *traditional weekend* [Fri-Sun] of #TotalDhamaal [₹ 62.40 cr]." Read here:

Kesari is Akshay's second biggest opener film after Gold which released on the occasion of Independence Day last year. Speaking of film's Day 1 box office collection, Kesari earned Rs. 21 crore at the ticketing counters.

While there is a lot of buzz around this action-drama and Kesari, now, also receiving positive word of mouth, the film clashed with Vasan Bala’s Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. With two films belonging to very different genres, fans are going bonkers for both of them.

Kesari Movie Review:

Making a war movie and that about a battle that’s been long lost in the pages of history is not a cakewalk. However, kudos to the casting and direction of the film, Kesari was unlike any other patriotic films with an abundant amount of chest-thumping. Kesari is raw, touching and compelling in equal proportions. Had it been about a bunch of young men crying war at the top of their voice, the magic wouldn’t have been so picture-perfect. The film directed by Anurag Singh had its own moments of highs and lows, but the narrative itself sailed the boat to its shores. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE!
