Juhi Chawla lauds Katrina, says she well deserved the Smita Patil Memorial Award

Ever since Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has been conferred with the ‘Smita Patil Memorial Award’, a lot has been said and written about if she actually deserved the honour.

Katrina received this honour for her outstanding contribution in Bollywood.

Many of the voices were raised in the criticism against Katrina. It was also stated that actresses like Swara Bhaskar and Radhika Apte deserved the award much more than the ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ actress.

However, actress Juhi Chawla has come out in support of Kaif and stated that the honour was well earned by Katrina.

Juhi also praised Katrina’s dedication and commitment towards her work.

"I think our memory is very short. Just a few years ago, I remember Katrina Kaif was in a row. She had about 10 super-duper hit films to her credit. I think she deserves an award. She is very beautiful and a committed actress”, Juhi was quoted saying.

Interestingly, Juhi is not the first B-town celeb who has come forward in support of Katrina.

Earlier, Swara Bhaskar too had praised Katrina and stated that she did deserve the 'Smita Patil Memorial Award' in every sense.

She said the Katrina’s endurance and passion is well reflected in her work

"Any artist of any field will tell you that hard work is something to be respected”, Swara added.

On the work front, Katrina Kaif is busy completing her much delayed movie ‘Jagga Jasoos’ opposite ex-flame Ranbir Kapoor.

Helmed by Anurag Basu, the movie is now scheduled to release in April 2017.

On the other hand, she has also been roped in for Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ opposite Salman Khan. The movie happens to be the sequel of Salman-Katrina’s 2012 release ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and will be seen reprising their roles in it.
