The romantic flick ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ has fared below expectations at the box office. The Katrina Kaif- Sidharth Malhotra starrer minted only Rs 21.16 crore over the weekend.
It is more surprising that business dipped on Sunday, the day when usually Bollywood movies rake in the most money.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted this:
Directed by Nitya Mehra, BBD was extensively promoted across all platforms. But what may have not worked in this movie’s favour could be the movie’s un-relatable plot. Moreover, cine buffs were not too satisfied with Katrina Kaif’s acting. Some even went on to say while Sidharth pulled the movie up, Katrina was a huge disappointment.

With such a cold response at the box office, the path towards getting a hit tag for ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ looks impossible. The movie was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 45 crore, but given its slow pace it is unlikely that it will recover that amount.
Its competitor at box office ‘Freaky Ali’ too did not see an overwhelming response. It registered a collection of Rs 8.60 crore over the weekend, if media reports are to be believed.
This is definitely not good news for Katrina Kaif. Her past few movies including ‘Phantom’ and ‘Fitoor’ also bombed at the box office. With ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ too looking at a similar fate, we wonder what it says about Katrina’s career in Bollywood.
