New Delhi: It’s been a while that Karisma Kapoor’s personal life is making it to the headlines. All thanks to her divorce case with husband Sunjay Kapur.
Karisma had married businessman Sunjay in 2003 and had a troubled married life. The couple separated in 2012 and since then they had been fighting a divorce case.
Though, earlier the couple had agreed to get separate mutually but soon things got worse as Karima filed a dowry harassment case against her estranged hubby.
Even Sunjay accused Karisma of marrying him for just money. A lot of blame game happened between the ex-couple, who went on to fight the divorce case alone with fighting for the custody of their kids, son Kiaan Raj Kapoor and elder daughter Samiera Kapoor.
However, as per the reports, Karisma and Sunjay have finally agreed to part ways on mutual consent and the diva has got the custody of her kids. Indeed, it was a tough time for the ‘Hero No.1’ actress.
When her father Randhir Kapoor was quizzed about her divorce, the veteran actor called it a sad moment.
“I don't know if it is a good or a bad thing, but it is certainly a sad moment for our family .The only silver lining in this is that the children will spend most part of the year with us. Karisma has been through a rough time in the last few years. It has been emotionally draining for her. So, I hope the verdict offers her some respite,” Randhir told a leading daily.
Talking about the divorce statement, Karisma has not just got the custody of her children but the Khar flat owned by Sunjay's late father Surinder Kapur has also been transferred to the diva. On the other hand, Sunjay has been allowed to visit the kids twice a month.
The divorce case by mutual consent is all set to be filed in the Bandra Family Court on June 13, 2016.
