Kareena Kapoor Khan is part of Irrfan Khan starrer Angrezi Medium, Radhika Madan confirms

Irrfan Khan’s return to the sets of his upcoming Bollywood film Angrezi Medium, the sequel to 2017 hit Hindi medium, gave a reason to his fans to celebrate. The actor returned to the sets of the film on Friday morning along with Radhika Madan, who will be seen playing the role of Irrfan’s daughter in the film. The actress took to her Instagram to share the picture of the clipboard of the film as she kickstarted the shooting. While fans were excited to see the first pictures from the sets, Radhika’s post gave them another reason to do the happy dance as it confirmed that Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan is also a part of Angrezi Medium.

Rumours were doing rounds in the buzz market that Kareena Kapoor Khan has also been roped in to play the lead role in Irrfan Khan starrer Angrezi Medium, but nothing was confirmed yet. When Radhika took to her social media to share a picture from the sets, she captioned it saying, "As excited as the man behind! So so so grateful for this new journey. @irrfan @homster @maddockfilms #kareenakapoorkhan #dineshvijan" Since Kareena is not on Instagram, Radhika tagged her in the post using the hashtag which confirms that the actress will be seen in the film. Earlier a report in Mid-Day stated, “While the film kicks off in April, Kareena will join the unit only by May-end during the London schedule. She will be seen as a cop in the satire. While she loved the script, Kareena was just as excited to play a police officer for the first time in her 19-year-long career. She intends to wrap up the sequel by November, in time to begin shooting for Karan Johar's period drama Takht.” Looks like the reports are actually true!

Even producer Dinesh Vijan hinted on having another actress other than Radhika Madan in the film and said, "Radhika Madan is playing Irrfan’s daughter but yes, there is another amazing leading lady. Talks are on." He also threw some light on having actor Irrfan Khan again on the sets of his film and revealed to Mumbai Mirror, "Having him back on the set was a surreal feeling, he’s undoubtedly one of the best actors in the country. When he gave the first shot, everyone around got emotional. For me, it was one of those life-defining moments working with him again after Hindi Medium. Having him and Homi (director Homi Adajania) together was something all three of us have always wanted."

Talking about Angrezi Medium, while Irrfan's character in 2017 Hindi Medium was Raj Batra, a Delhi based businessman with a sari showroom, in this film he plays Champak from Udaipur who is in the sweet business.
