Filmmaker Karan Johar along with actors Saif Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan took a jibe at actress Kangana Ranaut over her nepotism comment at the glittering ceremony of IIFA Awards 2017. The actors, who were trying to make fun of the talented actress, have received the flak on social media. People on Twitter are calling their act disappointing and are slamming them for cracking jokes on an opinionated woman like Kangana. The actress during Karan’s chat show Koffee With Karan called director the ‘flag bearer of nepotism’.
During IIFA, when Varun came on the stage to receive the award, the trio jokingly stated that they are in the industry because of their parents and then jointly said ‘Nepotism Rocks’. After the event was aired, criticism followed on Twitter and people supported Kangana.
After the actress started nepotism debate on the chat show, many celebs came out and expressed their views on it. Some said that nepotism exists in the industry whereas some totally denied it.
But, it seems that Karan has not gotten over the comments that Kangana made on him, few months back.
On a related note, along with Varun, Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor also won awards for Udta Punjab. Neerja was declared as Best film at the event.
