Karan Johar reveals Student Of The Year 2 cast but Twitter can’t see anything but ‘nepotism’!

When Karan Johar came out with Student Of The Year, fans couldn’t stop praising Alia Bhatt’s spectacular beauty and also the hunks Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Of course, the term ‘nepotism’ wasn’t in much vogue back then. The term came to limelight when Manikarnika actress Kangana Ranaut accused KJo of nepotism in his very own chat show Koffee With Karan. Ever since then, Karan Johar has been accused of ‘promoting only star kids’ every now and then. When he announced his ambitious project Dhadak, which had Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishaan Khatter, Twitter again raised a finger at the Dharma Productions honcho for never giving a chance to budding talents in B’wood.

On Wednesday, Karan Johar released two posters of Student Of The Year 2. But this time, cinephiles can see way beyond the star cast of his project. What they saw was ‘Jackie Shroff’s son’ and ‘Chunkey Pandey’s daughter’ in the film. They weren’t happy with the star cast, as the actors didn’t look like ‘students’ at all.

As soon as he dropped the posters, Twitterati had only one thing to say and that is ‘Nepotism’. “LOL! What if I pull the two of you out of the class and make you stand out cos of the unrecoverable damage you are causing to the #IndianFilmIndustry! We deserve better!” wrote one user. The cinephiles are visibly angry at the filmmaker for depriving the Indian audience of the better talent than the star kids.

In November 2017, Karan Johar announced the second instalment of his 2012 hit Student Of The Year. He wrote on Twitter, “The FRANCHISE continues!!!! The college opens its doors to a new Student! @iTIGERSHROFF #StudentOfTheYear2 directed by @punitdmalhotra @foxstarhindi @DharmaMovies @apoorvamehta18.”
