Karan Johar’s Kalank will make Sanjay Leela Bansali’s films look small. Here are all the details!

This is not new that audience was going crazy for the announcement of Karan Johar’s Kalank for a long time. But the filmmaker has made sure that the wait is worth it. Karan Johar has decided to make Kalank, a never made, never seen before movie with the set as grand as that of Sanjay Leela Bansali.

As reported by DNA, Abhishek Verman directorial flick already has an impressive set built worth Rs. 15 crores in Filmcity to create a background similar to that of Old Delhi. “A huge set has been erected in Film City, which is under heavy security to ensure that pictures of the interiors are not leaked. They are also taking extra measures to keep the look of the cast under wraps," DNA quoted a source as saying.

To execute this big responsibility, Karan asked his production designer Amrita Mahal Nakai, who has worked with him on projects like Student Of The Year, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, 2 States and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt have already shot for the first song of the movie with no less than 500 dancers adding to the background. Interestingly, Karan Johar has even managed to take a nod from Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit to come face to face onscreen for his dream project Kalank.

Sources also revealed, “The film is special to Karan because his dad Yash Johar was keen that this project should materialise. Karan wants to make sure it’s one of the biggest films he’s ever produced. He wanted the whole set to express the grandeur and scale of Kalank."

The film will also feature a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. Kalank is being co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

The movie will hit the theatres on April 19th, 2019
