Pakistani actor Fawad Khan may have become the heartthrob of the nation, owing to his drool-worthy looks. However, things took a nasty turn in wake of the Uri attacks leading to hostile relations between India and Pakistan. This led to film body The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) putting a ban on Pakistani artistes. As a result of this ban, grapevine is abuzz that Fawad has been replaced by actor Saif Ali Khan for a movie.
Filmmaker Karan Johar’s production ‘Raat Baaki’ is said to have replaced Fawad with Saif. A source revealed that Saif has already heard the script from Karan and even showed his interest in it.
A source informed a leading entertainment portal, “Karan has already narrated the script to Saif and he seems to have liked it.”
However, official announcement for the same is still awaited. Previously, ‘Raat Baaki’ was said to feature actress Katrina Kaif opposite Fawad.
This step by KJo can be seen in agreement to his statements before release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. The filmmaker had promised to not work with Pakistani actors in future and had requested to allow a smooth release of the movie.
Well, if Saif has indeed replaced Fawad in the movie, then this will be third time he will work with Katrina. Both the actors previously worked in ‘Phantom’ and ‘Race’. Although, ‘Phantom’ could not generate heat at the box office the latter was a hit.
Saif will next be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj directorial ‘Rangoon’ alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut. Katrina Kaif’s last onscreen venture was ‘Baar Baar Dekho’. She will next be seen in ‘Jagga Jasoos’ opposite her ex-flame Ranbir Kapoor.
