New Delhi: Comedian-turned-actor Kapil Sharma’s recent show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ is one of the most popular shows on the Indian television.
The show has been topping the TRP charts and has been luring several celebs to be a part of the show.
Lately, actress Debina Bonnerjee, who shot to fame with her portrayal of Sita in ‘Ramayana, made her way on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ as Kiku Sharda’s wife.
And now we hear that another actress is all set enter the comedy show.
We are talking about Kanika Maheshwari, who is popular as Meenakshi Bhabhi in ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’.
“The actress will be playing a sexy bhabhi in the show and she is expected to start shooting soon. This role was earlier offered to Shilpa Shinde, but since she was involved in a tussle with the producers of 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain' over the clauses of her contract, the makers of TKSS didn't get her on board. But since the show has become quite popular, the makers are getting new characters, and Kanika fitted the show,” a source told a leading daily.
Kanika too confirmed the news of her entry in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ to a leading daily, saying, “It's going to be a very good role. I can't talk much about the character since the details are still being worked out.”
The actress also spoke over the reports of ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ going off air saying, “There are rumours about DABH going off air. The producers haven't told us anything. The show has its audience. When the news about it going off air came out, we were bombarded with messages on social media from fans asking for the show to continue.”
Only time will tell, if Kanika’s character is loved by viewers or not.
