She has made you roll with laughter in “The Kapil Sharna Show” and now, comedy queen Sumona Chakraborti is all set to thrill you with an entirely new avatar. The actress will now be seen in a detective thriller TV show, which will be aired on Colors TV.
While Sumona will play the female lead, buzz has it that the male lead will be played by Ashish Chowdhary.
After “Bade Aache Lagte Hain” and “Jamai Raja”, the 30-year-old actress is once again making a comeback on the small screen as a detective.
Sumona is extremely excited for her new character and has already started preparing to fit into the shoes of a spy, according to a source.
While it is not yet confirmed as to when the show will go on air, insiders have revealed that the name of the fictional show will be “Dev Anand”.
The actress also hasn’t spoken about her new show. However, it is sure that the actress has been finalized for the thriller and, Sumona has also given a positive response, reports suggest.
Apart from TV, Sumona has played a cameo in films such as Ranbir Kapoor’s “Barfi” and Salman Khan’s “Kick”. Interestingly, she was also the second runner-up of Times of India Mr. & Miss Perfect 2004.
