New Delhi: It has not been long since his show started but looks like comedian turned actor Kapil Sharma has run into trouble. Recently, the nursing staffs from many mediacl institutes of Amritsar and Chandigarh protested against a particular episode of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. They alleged that Kapil Sharma portrayed nurses in a vulgar manner.
The nurses were so upset with the episode that they burnt effigies of Kapil Sharma, in his hometown Amritsar. In the episode, model Rochelle Maria Rao played a sexy nurse while Kiku Sharda a fat one.
For demeaning and maligning their reputed profession, the nurses have filed a police complaint against Kapil Sharma.
Since this controversy broke out, there has been no official statement from the team of TKSS. But, actor Kiku has something to say.
While speaking to a leading daily, Kiku said,
“I have read about it (the protests) online... The show’s team hasn’t told us anything yet; we are shooting today.”

A few months back, Kiku Sharda himself ran into trouble with the followers of Dera Sacha Chief Ram Rahim. At an award show, he mimicked the religious guru and faced legal trouble. He was arrested from the sets and was later released in the evening. During that incident, Kapil had come out in Kiku’s support and asked the Dera chief to forgive him.
Now, this new nurse’s controversy seems to have caught the show.
An insider from the comedy show had this to say on the matter,
“No one plays a real doctor or nurse. The characters on the show repeatedly talk about how they don’t know their jobs, and that’s where the comedy comes from. One nurse (Rochelle) says she used to work in a boutique, and the doctor (played by Sunil Grover) says ‘I have a fake hospital. Come if you want.’ This is a comedy show, and it is not meant to be taken seriously.”
