Kangana Ranaut, Rajkummar Rao starrer Mental Hai Kya to release on June 21
Bollywood’s two spell-binding actors, Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao, are ready to cut through the madness as their upcoming Bollywood film Mental Hai Kya has finally got its release date. The actors will spread the magic of their craziness on the big screens on June 21, 2019. The makers have released a motion poster as well as a poster of the film saying, “Get ready for craziness that cuts through! Mental Hai Kya - releasing on 21st June 2019. #MentalHaiKya” Check out the poster here-
Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao also took to his social media to share the sassy poster of the film Mental Hai Kya and wrote, “Madness has made its cut! Catch Mental Hai Kya in theatres on 21st June 2019”. In the poster, Rajkummar and Kangana Ranaut are seen with their tongue stuck out and touching a blade. The tagline on the poster reads, “Sanity Is Overrated.”
Other than the still, the makers have also shared a motion poster that shows different staged and moods of these two characters in the film. The poster starts with a declaration that this June, two mentals will collide and then goes on to define them with various adjectives. While words like crazy, crack, whacky and weird are used to describe Rajkummar Rao’s characters, words like bizarre, freaky, gutsy, and psycho define Kangana Ranaut’s character.
Mental Hai Kya is the much-awaited film of Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut. The film was supposed to hit the screens in May after its original release date of 22nd February got postponed. However, due to some post-production work, the film’s release date was delayed many times. Now the makers have finally announced that the film will reach the audience on June 21. Mental Hai Kya is directed by Prakash Kovelamudi and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The film deals with mental health and hallucinations, and depicts the relationship of an ex-couple.
Talking about the characters, Kangana Ranaut will step into the shoes of a voiceover artist in the film and Rajkummar Rao will be seen playing an entrepreneur. Earlier in a statement, producer Ekta Kapoor said, ''Mental Hai Kya celebrates the beauty in imperfections and in being different and shouts out, Sanity is overrated! I'm thrilled to work with Kangana and Raj on this one." Directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, the movie also features Amyra Dastur and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles.
Interestingly, Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Mental Hai Kya will clash at teh box office with Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh. The teaser of Kabir Singh has already been released and earned much praised from the audience. The movie directed by Sandeep Vanga is the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. The original flick starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey was also directed by Vanga.
