Popular filmstar and Big Boss Tamil’s host Kamal Haasan’s daughter Akshara Haasan has claimed that she has converted to Buddhism. The actress is making her acting debut in Tamil film industry in Ajith’s Vivegam. She is more than just happy to share the screen space with one of the best actors in Tamil film industry. In a recent interview with Times of India, Akshara Haasan opened about working with Ajith Kumar and revealed how the duo bonded over their shared interest in photography. In her earlier claims, the actress told that she was an atheist. But now she made a surprising revelation that she has converted to Buddhism.
During the interview, Akshara also revealed that felt immediately drawn towards the teachings and principle of Buddha. At the press conference in Chennai, she got candid about her struggles in industry as an assistant director in Mumbai and how she developed a knack of acting, just like her elder sister Shruti Hassan.

"As my father, mother and sister are totally into films, I would love to make a movie with all of them. But, only after I prove myself as a talented filmmaker," she added.
When asked about her father, Kamal Haasan’s political interests and whether he’s planning to join politics, she straightaway skipped the question by saying, “it's up to him, and I will not make any comment on it.”

Akshara made her Bollywood debut alongside the veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush in film ‘Shamitabh’ which tanked on box office. She was also seen in another Bollywood film Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewani with Vivaan Shah which also failed to get big box office numbers.
