After introducing the Men of Kalank-Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt, producer Karan Johar has unveiled Alia Bhatt's look for the film on the special occasion of International Women's Day. Introducing Alia Bhatt as Roop, KJo said, "To love her is to love fire". The gorgeous Alia, who recently won hearts as Safeena in Gully Boy, looks like a beautiful dream come true in Kalank new poster.
Here's how Karan Johar introduced the first woman of Kalank Alia Bhatt in the latest character poster reveal.
Sharing the first look of the film Karan wrote, "A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago....a film I passionately believe in...the last film my father worked on before he left us....it was his dream to see this film come through....I couldn’t fulfil his dream then....my spirit was broken....but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid....the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice....the film has been woven,nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN....and the film Is KALANK! Set in the 40’s but it’s heart lives on.....TOMORROW the journey begins.....am excited ...anxious and emotional about this one...I do hope you join us on our path to undying love.."
On Thursday, Kalank makers revealed Varun Dhawan;s look as Zafar, Aditya Roy Kapur as Dev Chaudhry and Sanjay Dutt as Balraj Chaudhry.
Karan Johar's father, the late Yash Johar, was supposed to direct Kalank. Pre-production had begun, but it got shelved.
Now, Karan has passed the baton on to filmmaker Abhishek Varman. "I am now proud to pass it on to the extremely capable and visionary hands of director Abhishek Varman. Kalank has a beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija and an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek," the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director said in a statement.
Kalank is scheduled to open in theatres on April 19.
