Karan Johar's ambitious project Kalank is all set to hit the screens on April 17 and before it, makers are trying their best to raise the curiosity of the audience. To maintain the right kind of buzz, different poster of all six characters are being released one by one. So far, we have seen Varun Dhawan's character Zafar in a fierce avatar, 'noble' Dev with a sword in his hand, Alia Bhatt as Roop, Sonakshi Sinha as Satya and later, Madhuri Dixit as Bahar Begum. Now, the makers have dropped a new poster of Sanjay Dutt as Balraj in Kalank. He sits inside a carriage with raindrops falling on the window panes. He's looking drowned deep in thoughts.

Sharing the poster, he wrote, "It’s never easy playing a man of few words. "

Earlier, sharing Sonakshi Sinha's poster, Karan Johar wrote, ''She holds a world of emotions in her eyes. Meet #Satya in cinemas on 17th April''.

Meanwhile, played by Alia Bhatt, Roop is a beautiful and courageous woman. In the poster, Alia looks gorgeous with a bindi, earrings and baby pink dupatta over her head. The festive background adds extra charm to the poster. Sharing Alia's poster on Instagram, Karan Johar wrote, ''Courage has never looked this beautiful! Meet the feisty #Roop in #Kalank on 17th April''. Check out Alia's latest poster in which she looks no less than a princess.

Earlier, he shared Aditya Roy Kapur aka Dev's poster along with the caption, ''The face of nobility - here’s #Dev! #Kalank in cinemas on 17th April.''. On the other hand, Varun Dhawan aka Zafar's poster gave us some serious Baahubali vibes. Sharing the poster, KJo wrote, ''The one who takes challenges head-on! #Zafar's story will come to life on 17th April''.

Karan Johar's Kalank, which also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha is a dream project of the filmmaker. The movie set in the 1940s was conceptualised 15 years ago by KJo's father Yash Johar. It was meant to be directed by Karan himself but due to unavoidable circumstances, the project got shelved. Now, the multi-starrer period drama has been helmed by Abhishek Varman.

For unversed, Varun, Madhuri and Alia were not the first choices of the filmmaker. Karan Johar in his book, An Unsuitable Boy revealed that Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukerji and Kajol were the original cast of Kalank. ''When my father was alive, I was writing a love story set in pre-partition times. But the canvas was too large, it was supposed to have Shah Rukh, Ajay, Rani and Kajol. It was about homes, and it had a Hindu-Muslim angle. It was a very strong subject, and would be called Kalank,” read an extract from Karan's book.
