Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh trailer to be out on May 13
Shahid Kapoor has stepped into the shoes of Vijay Deverakonda for Arjun Reddy's Hindi remake titled Kabir Singh. Kiara Advani has been paired opposite him to play the role of his love interest Preeti. The film is being directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who was the original director of Arjun Reddy. Several posters have been dropped, revealing Shahid Kapoor in stubble and a cigarette in his mouth. Shahid is playing the titular role of Kabir Singh, who embarks on a journey of self-destruction and alcoholism after his girlfriend Preeti is married off to someone else. While the teaser has already been release, Kabir Singh's trailer to be launched on May 13. Shahid Kapoor shared another poster from the film and announced the trailer release date.
He wrote, "Trailer out on 13th May!"
In the new poster, we can see Kiara Advani as Preeti in the backdrop. The Lust Stories actress is seen in salwar suits and minimum makeup in the teaser.
For this role, Shahid Kapoor had to smoke cigarettes and bidis during the shoots. He used to smoke so much that his body reeked of nicotine. While talking to a leading daily, he said, "I don't endorse smoking at all. However, the role required it, as the protagonist uses it to channel his angst and rage. It wasn't easy, and it came to a point where I smoked almost 20 cigarettes a day. It would take me close to two hours to shower and get rid of the smells before I could return home to my children."
Kabir Singh is scheduled to release on June 21 this year. This is the first collaboration of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani on silver screen. Earlier, Shahid and Kiara have featured for a music video Urvashi Urvashi last year.
