New Delhi: Film maker Kabir Khan came across an unexpected incident recently, after he was beseiged at the Karachi Aiport by shoe-weilding protestors.

The protestors were annoyed with Khan for showing Pakistan in bad light in his movie ‘Phantom’. They were shouting ‘shame! Shame!’ and raised anti-Indian slogans condemning the director for not making movies against India’s RAW rather just helming movies which shows Pakistan in bad light.

The incident straight away made to the headlines. Though Kabir remained calm throughout the incident he also urged the media not to pay heed to it.

And now Kabir’s wife Mini Mathur has spoken up about the incident and said that the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ director doesn’t support extremism on either side.

“No he wasn’t attacked. There were these 12 protesters shooting their own protest on iphones outside the airport which was creating a hassle. He doesn’t support any kind of extremism either in this side or that side. He was unperturbed and he handled it very calmly. He was there on their invitation to speak on a marketing and innovation conference. There were people all around the world to talk about it. He was gone for one day and these people chose to express their protest for whatever reason, anyway Kabir is back and he’s safe and all is fine. Also he got a lot of love from them there and so 12 people protesting shouldn’t create a big dent,” Mini Mathur reportedly told an entertainment portal.

Kabir Khan faced the brunt because of his 2015 release ‘Phantom’ starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, which revolved around the tragic November 26 Mumbai attacks at the Taj Hotel. The movie raised a furore in Pakistan and was later banned there.
