Judwaa 2, the official remake of 1997’s hit Judwaa, hit the silverscreen on Friday. It stars Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead roles. On its opening, the film rakes in Rs. 16 crore, marking a phenomenal start of the film. The day 2 has been even better for the movie, as Vijayadashmi festivities earned its Rs. 20.25 crore at the box office. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the second day collection and addressed Judwaa 2’s box office growth phenomenal.
The film has now minted Rs. 36.65 crore altogether, making Judwaa 2 an exceptional performer at the BO. By opening at Rs. 16 crores, Judwaa 2 becomes the fourth biggest opener of the year after Baahubali: The Conclusion, Tubelight and Raees.
The action-comedy released on the final day of Navratri, gathering even more crowd on the second day due to Dussehra. As it has the long weekend ahead, following Gandhi Jayanti on Monday, the film is expected to fare well at the box office.
