Actor Akshay Kumar’s latest release ‘Jolly LLB 2’ is receiving praises and love from the audience. The weekend has been amazing for the movie as it has fetched Rs 50.46 crore till now. The movie is on the battle field with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ and Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ and it seems that now it is Jolly’s turn to rule the box office.
‘Jolly LLB 2’received a decent opening of Rs 13.20 crore at the box office. On weekends, the collections witnessed good growth. It minted Rs 17.31 crore on Saturday, and Rs 19.95 crore on Sunday. Thus, the total box office collection of the film till now is Rs 50.46 crore.
The good reviews and positive word of mouth will surely increase the numbers in future. Meanwhile, the movie will affect the business of ‘Raees’ and ‘Kaabil’ that has already entered Rs 100 crore club.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#JollyLLB2 has a TERRIFIC Sun. Goes from strength to strength. Fri 13.20 cr, Sat 17.31 cr, Sun 19.95 cr. Total: ₹ 50.46 cr. India biz.”
Though the movie is getting appreciated but it still failed to match the opening day collection of Shah Rukh’s ‘Raees’. Despite clashing with ‘Kaabil’, ‘Raees’ opened with the huge amount of Rs 20.42 crore. Hrithik’s film, on the other hand, minted Rs 10.43 crore.
The coming days will decide if Akshay becomes successful to deliver his fourth Rs 100 crore film in a row, after 'Airlift', 'Rustom' and 'Housefull 3'. The star already has six Rs 100 crore film in his kitty.
On a related note, ‘Jolly LLB 2’ is the sequel of 2013 film ‘Jolly LLB’. Besides Akshay, the film also features Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor in pivotal roles.
