John's Parmanu is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions in 1998, which was conducted by Indian Army’s Pokhran Test Range. Releasing the new poster of his film, John also announced the releasing date of Parmanu. John released the poster on his microblogging site Twitter and wrote, ‘’Embark on an extraordinary journey this December with Parmanu The Story of Pokhran.”
Recently talking about his film John said, ‘’Parmanu is an ode to the army and scientists, who although ordinary people, truly accomplished extraordinary feats in the face of adversity to ensure that India finds its due place on the world nuclear map. It is a powerful human story of ordinary citizens who changed the trajectory of the country. It is so special to me because it combines all the aspects of film making that really speak to me – a thrilling edge of the seat plotline.”
Meanwhile producers of the film Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor said, “What we truly want to achieve through this film is pride for our true heroes-. Jai Jawan, Jai Vigyan! For us at KriArj, Parmanu is partly a dream and partly a need to remind the people of India of the unsung heroes behind our nuclear prowess- our army and our scientists. After Rustom, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, this film is yet another step in our journey to make good, engaging cinema that is not just entertaining but also evokes pride in our country. Despite the ambitious project, in terms of recreating India of the 90s, we are glad that we are completely on schedule for December 8th release of this edge-of-the-seat thriller.”
