Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK leader J. Jayalalithaa passed away late Monday evening leaving a void among her ardent followers. The state went into a phase of grief as people mourned the loss of their beloved ‘Amma’.

The movie was titled 'Aathi Parashakti’ in which Jayalalithaa essayed the role of Goddess Sakthi and was paired opposite Gemini Ganesan, who played the role of Lord Shiva. In the movie Sridevi portrayed the role of Lord Murugan.
Before her stint as a politician, Jayalalithaa acted in over 100 movies. She was paired opposite M.G. Ramchandran the maximum number of times, 28 times to be exact. It was MGR who founded AIADMK and introduced Jayalalithaa to politics.
Post MGR’s demise, Jayalalithaa took the party to new heights and became the CM of Tamil Nadu for six times. Jayalalithaa was admitted in hospital September after she got fever. Over the days her condition deteriorated and she suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday.
