Jagjit Singh’s wife Chitra Singh will reportedly visit Varanasi to offer prayer to Lord Hanuman for a Bharat Ratna for gazal maestro late Jagjit Singh.
If reports are to be believed, Chitra Singh will also sing during the inaugural function of the six-day music fest at the Sankat Mochan, which will start from April 15.
Chitra will be singing for the first time after 1991, when their son expired in a car accident.
A source informed, "She expressed her desire to offer prayer to Lord Hanuman to take the blessings of Bharat Ratna for her husband. She will share the stage in music festival for the first time and perform after a long time."
Chitra also said that the country has ignored singer Jagjit Singh and he deserved the prestigious award Bharat Ratna.
Sankat Mochan is quite popular temple located in Varanasi. Recently, actor Vidyut Jammwal also visited Sankat Mochan temple to seek blessing for the success of his film Commando 2.
