Jacqueline Fernandez has decided to steer clear from dairy products and sugar for Lent. Let us tell you, Lent is a 40-day period observed before Easter, excluding Sundays. It marks the beginning on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Wednesday, a day before Easter Sunday.
People who observe Lent give up on something which they otherwise like a lot. Jacqueline, therefore, gives up on sugar and dairy products for 40-days, starting from March 1. The ‘Dishoom’ actress Lent lets one grow through self-examination along with seeking blessings from the Almighty.
When asked about it, she said, “I believe Lent is a time to pray and seek blessings. It teaches you to give up what you cherish the most, to be able to grow as a person. I feel, rather than giving up on something, it is important to practice the values weaved into us and make sure we follow it to the tee, as it is a season for self-examination and to become more mindful, more penitent and more reflective. Every year I give up on something and this year, it's the indulgent things like sweets and dairy."
Jacqueline is presently working on her upcoming film ‘Drive’ with her co-star Sushant Singh Rajput. The film is produced by Dharma Productions. It is set to release in the second half of 2017.
