Ittefaq featuring actors Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna has released recently and the film has shown steady growth over the weekend. The whodunit directed by Abhay Chopra, earned Rs 4.05 cr on its opening day. The earnings witnessed growth and now the collection of the film so far stands at Rs 27.40 cr. The figures were shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
He took to microblogging site Twitter to share the numbers. He tweeted, ''Ittefaq witnessed growth on Sat and Sun... [Week 2] Fri 85 lakhs, Sat 1.35 cr, Sun 1.55 cr. Weekend 2: ₹ 3.75 cr. Total: ₹ 27.40 cr. India biz.''
The movie is the official remake of 1969 movie with the same name starring Rajesh Khanna. Along with Sid and Sonakshi, the film also features Akshaye Khanna as a cop. Ahead of the film’s release, the team along with some of the renowned faces of the industry like Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Anushka Sharma urged people not to reveal the spoilers. In fact, the team also went with a no promotion policy as it was a suspense thriller.
It is yet to be seen if Ittefaq manages to mint huge amount in the coming days.
