Filmmaker Anurag Basu, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Jagga Jasoos has clarified that it is just a coincidence that actor Ranbir Kapoor’s hairdo in the film looks similar to cartoon character Tintin. Ever since the trailers and teasers of the film were launched, speculations were rife that Ranbir’s hairdo was inspired from Tintin. The ace director talked about it saying that he wanted to give unique hairstyle to the actor and the selected one wasn’t his first choice.
Anurag revealed that they tried different looks but the first one didn’t make him look childish, which was an essential element of the story. Thus, they moved ahead with the current look because it matched with the story adding that its similarity with Tintin is just a coincidence.
The director recalled saying that he had stacks of Tintin's comics during his childhood. He added that Jagga Jasoos is his childhood memories playing on the big screen.
On a related note, Jagga Jasoos will also feature actress Katrina Kaif opposite Ranbir. Both the actors are coming together for the first time after their breakup and are currently on a promotional spree for the film. The movie is slated to release on July 14.
